By Anonymous

INDIAN WELLS, CA October 7 2003 – It is what many fans have been asking for and now they have it. For the first time in tournament history, men’s main draw action will take place alongside the women during the first week of competition. And beginning on Friday, October 10, fans can purchase box seats, prime loge series tickets and daily tickets for all 20 sessions at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden Box Office. The 2004 Pacific Life Open men’s draw will mirror the women’s 96 singles players and 32 doubles teams and 48 singles qualifiers, offering fans two full weeks of action scheduled for March 8-21 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.

The Pacific Life Open is considered the fifth largest tennis tournament in the world, along with Nasdaq-100 Open in Miami, behind the four Grand Slams. Last year’s exciting event culminated with championships by off-court couple Lleyton Hewitt of Australia and Kim Clijsters of Belgium, who each held the No. 1 ranking during the 2003 season on their respective tours. The 16,100-seat state-of-the-art stadium is the second largest in the world located in the lush oasis of the Southern California desert. The tournament caters to its fans by providing excellent sight lines of the court from every seat location; beautifully landscaped grounds and a variety of entertainment options, including live music, shopping, food and other amenities in the beautiful setting of the Southern California desert.

Other value packages being offered include the Daily Double, a prime location ticket for both day and evening sessions on a given day (Friday, March 12 – Friday, March 19); Weekend/Weekend (tickets to all 10 Friday through Sunday sessions); Kick-Off Weekend (Friday, March 12 – Sunday, March 14), The Final Four Weekend (Thursday, March 18 – Sunday, March 19) and Groups Tickets of 20 or more.

Individual tickets range in price from as low as $14 for evening session loge seats to $66 for Prime Loge on Finals Weekend. Many daily discounts are available to families, USTA members, seniors, Coachella Valley residents, students and military.

Many fans have taken advantage of unique Hotel and Ticket packages, which include hotel accommodations and premium box seat tickets. There are four great plans and seven great hotels to choose from.

“This event provides a tremendous opportunity for sports fans in Southern California and around the world to witness great tennis in one of the premier sporting facilities in the world,” said Charlie Pasarell, tournament director. “With the variety of packages and pricing this is the best entertainment value. One ticket can provide the patron with over eight hours of tennis action and off-court activities.”
